The Waves

We are located in the beautiful Bay of Plenty where you have a choice between five incredible waves that are accessible within a couple minutes by boat and Treasure Island lies just one hour away!!

The waves you will typically be surfing in the Bay of Plenty are Gunturs, Dindos, and Lolok Point.  Gunturs is one of the best waves in the Banyak Islands and can get absolutely epic with three barrels possible on one wave.  Lolok Point has been featured for 'The Search' and Dindo's is probably one of the most fun and playful waves in the entire region.  There are also a few other incredible waves just a short boat ride away. Camel Backs is a heavy barreling slab, can be mind blowing perfect, and is reserved for expert or fearless surfers. Shorty's, located a few minutes up the reef, can provide short but hollow fun barrels when the conditions align.

Treasure Island is a long perfect right hander with three barrel sections and is one of the best waves in Indonesia. Rides over a minute long are possible. Right around the corner from Treasure Island (preferring opposite swell direction and winds) is Cobras which provides fun lefts when small and challenging open barrels when the surf is big. Across the channel from Cobras a wave called Warrens can be good when the conditions allow and it is a playful right hander. If the surf is small we can venture to Turtles, a consistent playful left, that is about 15 minutes up the coast from Cobras.

There are also other epic spots around the Banyak Islands that we can access with our speedboat.  Lizards Nest is a short 30 minute speed boat ride away from the Floating Surf Resort and is considered one of Indonesia's best right handers with double digit barrel rides possible.  There are also other diamonds hidden in the rough.  If you come visit and the opportunity presents itself you might be introduced to some of these semi secret gems.

We love surfing and will use our experience, local knowledge, and expertise to get you to the best waves at the right times.

Gunturs

This is probably the most consistent wave in the Banyak Islands and is right in front of our resort. You can paddle out (takes about 10 minutes) or take our boat (2 min.). It's an incredible righthander. It has an outside barreling section and linking up some turns takes you into the inside section where another barrel is possible.

Dindos

Dindos is the lefthander across the bay and is only a two minute boat ride away from our Floating Surf Resort. It is one of the most fun, friendly, and forgiving waves in the Banyak Islands.

Lolok Point

Lolok is an incredible lefthander. It has big long walls, with carving and barrel sections. It is located out at the tip of the bay and is a five minute boat ride from your room. It takes a medium swell to start working and will produce those big Indo style barrels when it does.

Shortys

This wave is a grower. Take off on a waist high wave and backdoor a head high barrel. Like the name describes. It's not a long wave but the fun factor is rated 10. One of the friendliest barrels in the islands. It's just a short trolling trip from the resort.

Treasure Island

This wave is an absolute dream. Located across the channel on Bankaru Island (45-60 min by boat ride from our resort) this long right hand point break has three barrel sections. Everytime it's going off we hear people say "That was the best wave of my life!"

Cobras
Just around the corner from Treasure Island (about a 15 -20 minute boat ride) Cobras takes a different wind than Treasures. It can either be a playful fun wave when small or serve up big heavy barrels with the right swell direction. Definitely one of our favorites!

Camel Backs
One of the heaviest waves in the region. This slab is just a short paddle over from Gunturs.

We know of five other waves in the region but we don't advertise them because they are not consistent...but if the conditions line up and you are down for an adventure then let's go!
