Why a Floating Surf Resort?

We are just offshore from the remote Island of Tuangku in the Banyak Islands which is beautiful and raw. The Bay of Plenty where the Floating Surf Resort is located (which is far enough from the land) is dense jungle.. If you ever decide to camp there (we have) you will soon discover the snake and sandflee population.

After talking with sailors visiting the area we discovered if we were on the water we could avoid these things.

Living on the water in an environment only being able to be described as waterworld, surfing world class waves, while staying in comfortable air conditioned rooms with all the ammenties you need for a trip of a lifetime...well that's why. Plus we love and live in this area too.

How stable is the Floating Surf Resort?

We are moored in one of the calmest parts of the bay. Even during the largest swells it is barely noticeable that we are floating on the water.

The reefs provide incredible snorkeling where it's common to see colorful corals, reef fish, sting rays, lobsters, octopus, and more.  We have three canoes to use so you can explore many secluded beaches, fresh water creeks, the mangroves, go fishing, or just go for a cruise and check out the many beautiful birds in the trees along the shore. Taking a day trip to one of the tiny villages and visiting a school is always awesome and memorable. Bring a spear gun or fishing gear if you are an avid fisher.
